Bats in the Belfry?

So, last night was  not really a spiritual experience, but one experience we will never forget.  Dave was asleep in the bed and I was happily reading when looking up I saw this large bat flying back and forth in the room.  I screamed and this woke up Dave who saw it through sleep filled eyes and he also screamed.  I ran out of the room into the kitchen followed by the bat.  It hit me in the head before it disappeared from view.   Not really a pleasant thing at all.   We were sneaking around the rooms looking into all corners but never caught sight of it again.  It was so creepy.  We shut our bedroom door because we knew it had flown out of the room and, with hearts pounding, we went back to bed.  Then we heard something that sounded like a lawnmower turning on.  We both sat straight up in bed and said, “What was that?”  We have yet to find the bat or whatever went off in the night.  Not really good for the psyche.
